There’s nothing crazy about rereading! It’s the same as rewatching our favorite shows and movies. Or going to our favorite coffee shop. At some point it becomes less about the content and more about feeling. And boy do we need somethings to make us feel good in this insane world!!!

I agree with everything you wrote here! I've never been able to understand those who need an explanation for why they should reread their favorite books because, to me, it's obvious. But now I have an article that spells it out, so thanks!

Thank you Rabbi! I’m glad to hear it! What’s your favorite book to reread?

Harry Potter USED to be on my list because they were published in my teens and early twenties with (too much) time between books. Every time a new book would come out, I would prepare for it by reading all the old ones. I haven't read them in a while, but perhaps I will this summer!

My absolute favorite novel is East of Eden, by John Steinbeck. I reread it every 2-3 years. It's always insightful, and the insight changes with the years I've lived and whatever insight I've gained in the interim. I also read Travels With Charley, also by Steinbeck, whenever I'm in a "I want to feel America" mood.

My second favorite novel is A Gentleman in Moscow, by Amor Towles. I've read that three times and it's a delight every time. The Lincoln Highway is also in that category.

The last thing I'll mention is the Vampire Chronicles, by Ann Rice. NOT Interview with the Vampire, which is necessary reading for the series but not as enjoyable for me. The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned are masterpieces of vampire fiction, and the last thee books in the series are filled with fun characters to hang out with.
