Thanks, Arty, for yet another excellent article.

Permit me to note that the Groundhog Day analogy can take us only so far.

It is a syndrome that *we* have chosen to impose (i.e., project) onto our furry little rodent friend.

For *him* nothing there spells disappointment or frustration. On the contrary, he faces his event each February with a new optimism and a new enthusiasm.

Perhaps Judaism (Orthodox Judaism in particular) needs to be much less about inadequacy and angst, and much more about joy and optimism.

In many ways, animals are better attuned and adjusted to their environment and the realities of their existence than we are to ours.

We should try to learn something from them.

Arty,

Agree with JPR, beautifully written and so timely before the high holidays! Also, thx got the cited references. One last point, I never thought would ever love the verse "circling back" after the former Biden press secretary "circle back" Psaki!😂

“Is this process even working?” Okay, are you in my mind?! I’ve been thinking all day about the “slow burn” and how it seems to be life’s path for me…but I can’t accept it! I want everything and I want it now!!! I guess this is what I’ll write about this week 🤣
