Love this one! I tend to try to minimize being busy for the sake of being busy, and to try to get good night's of sleep and lots of long walks. When I was younger everyone around me was always trying to show off how busy they were, and I was too. It's so dull and absurd. Taking the time to let the mind flow freely is so much better! It's not always possible - making a living can be hard, and family and other responsibilities are real - but a lot of what we think we "have" to do, we don't.

Yes, yes, and more yes! "Taking the time to let the mind flow freely is so much better!" I completely agree with this. I aspire to be the kind of person who can stay home and live life at a slower pace. I'm working on it, and it sounds like you have got it down pat.

Beautiful!! I love what you said near the end - " Perhaps, amidst the tempest of life's uncertainties, lies an opportunity for transformation, where surrender becomes a sacred act of faith."

On another note, I love reading non-fiction. Even more, I enjoy catalogs - exhibition catalogs. I enjoy pouring over these books in a non-linear fashion.

Thank you so much Haim, I so appreciate it.

I love that you enjoy such a niche non-fiction medium. Catalogs! Who would have thought? I'm glad that your work and your interests align so beautifully with each other!

I too gravitate more to non fiction. I’m glad within the last year or so I’ve started giving time to both!

That investing study 🤯. I’m currently watching and Billions and it is completely driven by gut instinct mixed with psychology tricks. This gives me much to meditate on!

Caroline, that actually surprises me that non fiction is your genre of choice (I know non fiction is way huger than a genre, but you know what I mean). Your writing has so much heart and depth, I would have pegged you for a natural fiction lover. How did I not know this?

And yes, how crazy is that study? My husband did not love it, haha, I was all excited to tell him that he would be better off doing nothing. I love Billions by the way!

Thank you! This speaks to all those who choose committees of non-contributors, preferring others who will merely 'yes' them to death. Truth testing of genuine decisions reached by group efforts (like the matter of congregations choosing goals for shul members to accomplish) changes lives, communities and economic endeavors. Shuls must stop acting like corporations with a CEO in charge of their financial investment. Halacha isn't fiction to be ingested and enjoyed (Hey, weren't those guys amazing back then!).

I hear that for sure. He talks a lot about creating clear criteria for decision making and sticking to those over feelings, impressions, and opinions, which I think is hard to do but yields the best results.

Thank you for writing this! I definitely needed to hear this message at this time (though this is something that we probably all need to hear at all times).
